James D. Balcom
President and Chief Executive Officer
Jim joined PolyFuel as president and chief executive officer in August, 2002. Prior to joining PolyFuel, Jim was an entrepreneur–in–residence at Chrysalix, a leading fuel cell venture capital firm based in Vancouver, Canada. Before joining Chrysalix, Jim spent four years developing, commercializing and ultimately selling a technology start-up based on flat panel transducer technology licensed from the University of British Columbia. During his tenure, he launched 11 new products under the Monsoon brand name, developed an intellectual property portfolio of 17 issued patents and secured contracts with the largest consumer electronics retailers and PC OEMs in the U.S. Jim ultimately became president of the company and negotiated the sale of the business to one of the audio industry's larger players. Previously, Jim spent four years at Ballard in senior fuel cell development engineering and manufacturing management positions. Jim holds an engineering degree from the University of Waterloo, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mark Campion
Chief Financial Officer
As chief financial officer for PolyFuel, Mark leads all of the Company’s finance and administrative functions. Mark has more than 20 years of experience across a broad range of financial and operational disciplines, including public and private financing, treasury, information technology, financial planning and analysis, credit and risk management, accounting and taxation, human resources and corporate administration. He has held senior-level positions with a number of public and private companies, including AtomicTangerine, Inc., Trans Ocean Ltd., GRI International, Activision, Inc. and KPMG. Mark received a B.S. in business from the University of California at Berkeley and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Executive Management Program.

Rick Cooper
Vice President, Business Development
As vice president of business development at PolyFuel, Rick is responsible for the Company’s sales, marketing and other external relationships. Prior to joining PolyFuel in November, 2002, Rick was chief executive officer of the U.S. division of Xcellsis, an international joint venture between Ballard Power Systems, DaimlerChrysler and Ford Motor Company. In building that organization from one to 150 employees, Rick raised more than $80 million, built a world class fuel cell product development team and facilities. Rick made key contributions to Xcellsis’ valuation of more than $400 million at the time of its acquisition by Ballard in November 2001. He was a member of the California Fuel Cell Partnership steering committee. In addition, he has product development experience in the test equipment industry and battery R&D experience with Ballard starting in the early 1980s. Rick earned honors degrees in chemistry and mechanical engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and the California Polytechnic University at San Luis Obispo. He is also a registered professional engineer in California.

Henry Voss
Vice President Engineering
Prior to joining PolyFuel, Henry spent more than 12 years at Ballard Power Systems, most recently as director of technology integration and director of portable power products. While at Ballard, Henry initiated development work in portable fuel cells and led this technology through to the production release of the Nexa 1kW hydrogen fuel cell system. Responsibilities at Ballard also included the technical development of a next-generation automotive fuel cell stack design. Henry holds more than twenty U.S. patents in the area of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell technology covering MEA, stack and system design. Henry earned a masters degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in adaptive control systems, from the University of British Columbia.
